On an orbiting space stations, Mike Nelson and two robots watch and comment on This Island Earth. Their comments are genuinely funny throughout, and the movie they are watching is preposterous to start with.
In fact, this movie is an absolute delight from beginning to end. My companion and I, in the mood for a comedy, had mistakenly selected East Is East, a fine movie but more of a drama than a comedy. After it, still feeling in the mood for something lighthearted, we chose Mystery Science Theater. And what a fine choice it was!
