Gunshy (Gun Shy)
Starring Liam Neeson, Oliver Platt, Sandra Bullock
Directed by Eric Blakeney
Written by Eric Blakeney
Hollywood/Fortis, 102 minutes
Neeson is Charlie, a fearless DEA agent who has just developed some fears. Actually, he's a bit of a mess. Soon after the picture starts he meets a psychiatrist on an airplane, next thing he's into group therapy, and actually the group ends up paying an important role in the movie. And of course there is a happy ending.
Presumably, Charlie's situation happens in real life, just as professional actors sometimes develop severe stage fright.
The film is a well-acted and solid piece of work, but it's no masterpiece. For one thing, it is only moderately funny. (For a truly funny current DVD, see Road Trip.) But if you see Gunshy, you'll enjoy it and think your time was well spent.
About the DVD
The picture quality is adequate, as is the sound.
No extras to speak of, just a trailer. Not good enough considering the DVD's price of $29.99 US.
